Scott is a third generation Dentonite who has been buying and selling real estate since he was 18. He earned his BBA in Administrative Management and Real Estate at the University of North Texas, and, by the age of 26, he started his own company.
The dream-made-reality began with a leap of faith in 1992 when Scott quit his job to start the now award-winning residential property management business, Scott Brown Properties. In five years, he had built the largest residential property management business in Denton County, Texas. Building that business one investor at a time, Scott was guided by a simple principle: “I can make you more money with less hassle.” Today, with hundreds of owners and thousands of units under management, Scott continues to prove his philosophy to his investors.
In 1999, Scott started to Real T Team, a residential real estate sales company. Taking on key players of the industry, such as Keller Williams, ReMax, Century 21, and Coldwell Banker, Scott build the Real T Team into the largest independent sales organization in Denton County. Real T Team would later go on to combine forces with eXp Realty in 2023 to better serve Denton County residents and the talented agents that make up the sales team.
In 2002, Scott decided to open Scott Brown Commercial (SBC). Today, Scott has one of the most knowledgeable commercial agent staff in Denton County. The Scott Brown Commercial team is a full-service shop that handles a full line of commercial real estate products, including office, retail, industrial, and land. SBC services include investment sales, property listings, property management, and tenant representation.
Not long after, Scott combined efforts with Denton County’s most seasoned insurance agents to establish INCO Insurance Services of Texas, Inc. in 2006. Over the years, INCO has cultivated a team equipped with unparalleled expertise in the industry and the unique opportunity to provide residents and business owners dynamic options and carriers for the best service possible.
In 2007, Scott ventured into investment partnerships, pooling capital from high net worth individuals to enable them to buy large commercial properties that may be out of reach for the individual investor. Since then, Scott has raised over $100 million cash to acquire $250 million worth of properties.
In 2013, Scott noted the need for a maintenance company to handle the needs of the many residential and commercial properties managed by his companies, as well as provide quality service to the general public. SB Maintenance was formed and is now an established, successful company issuing quality service to the residents and businesses of Denton County.
Following closely behind, Allied Solutions was formed in 2013, supplying residents and local businesses with the expertise on HVAC installation and repairs and landscaping. Allied Solutions is now one of the most trusted names in HVAC servicing and landscaping in the Denton County area.
Seeing the need for trusted appliance repair, Scott established All About Appliances in 2020. Specializing in household appliance repair and parts, the All About Appliances team was built with technicians from some of the most knowledgeable and long-standing appliance repair companies in Denton, leading to success among the community and beyond.
In 2020, Scott solidified his knowledge and understanding of commercial development with the creation of SB Construction. Working hand-in-hand with the SBC management team and other property management firms in Denton County since 2002, SB Construction streamlines all commercial interior construction and remodeling for quality production in a timely manner.
Scott has a proven track record for setting extremely high goals and achieving them. He has consistently found a way to win in real estate with integrity and perseverance. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children and attends Cross Timbers Community Church.
